I have started to sleep less since last week not because I have to wake up an hour earlier than usual, but because I do not want to miss the fun in life by sleeping earlier than usual. I have started to run as well on weekends and I look forward to it. Since I moved back to Dubai in 2014, I have made quite a few friends from all walks of life. There were 8 of us in a closed group, 4 couples. Continue reading

To Sleep Or Not To Sleep

I spend twelve hours in my apartment everyday. Out of those twelve hours, I sleep for about eight. Of late, I have begun to hate sleeping. It feels as if I am wasting a huge amount of time on doing nothing. I fail to understand despite of living in such modern times, why haven’t the scientists figured out a way to avoid sleeping and still managing to refresh the mind and the body. A pill can be designed that doesn’t let one sleep. Just look at the positives of making such a pill. Continue reading

Reboot

This has to be the longest duration of time I have been absent from the blog. It is not that I didn’t want to write, but when do we ever get what we want? I just couldn’t or perhaps I should write, I just didn’t. When the number of people around you grows, you start thinking about them rather than thinking about yourself. Parties, night outs, traveling, discussions, misunderstandings and judgments take the front seat and send personal growth, reading, writing, responding to the rear. Shall not happen again. This is no excuse for not being able to write one post every other day. How do I plan to get better if I do not do what I am bad at. Practice maketh the man perfect but it is the manners that maketh the man in the first place. If I do not mannerize myself to write, when would I write bad and if I do not write bad, when would I get better and finally, if I do not get better, who will read me? Continue reading

Milestones

Milestones are good beings. Not only they tell you how close you are to your destination, but also how far you have come from wherever you were. They don’t travel themselves, their life’s purpose is to remain static. It is the static of the milestones that pushes people to achieve them. Imagine if milestones were also on the run like us, there wouldn’t be much of an achievement then. Selflessness, that is what we ought to learn from milestones. Continue reading

Why I Do What I Do

How do you feel when people advise you?Restart

There are three kinds of people in this world.

Firstly, there are those who hear the advising person uttering just one word. Bla.

Secondly, there are those who actually hear what the advising person is saying and feel that he is making a lot of sense.

Thirdly, there are those who hear an advice, ponder about it and finally make up their mind to change the stupid idiotic kind of lives they are living. Continue reading

The Inheritance

Have you ever thought about the concept of inheritance?

In a world where no one guarantees about the events of the next day, people love to inherit. A father’s property, a mother’s favour, a brother’s approval, a sister’s concern, people are eager to inherit all sorts of things and people are not ashamed to ask for it. An inheritance has to be a two-way process. There has to be a giver and there has to be a receiver. One cannot give without a receiver and one cannot receive without a giver. In such a case, where one of both is absent, it is not inheritance; it is felony, cheating, theft, robbery. Continue reading

The Millionaire

5:57 AM

Prabhat turned off the alarm before it was about to went off three minutes later. He was awake from quite a long time. He looked at Sarita, she was deep in her sleep, unaware of her husband looking at her. Her face had grown dull over the last few years, specially after she gave birth to twins three years ago. Gayatri & Savitri, he had named his twin daughters. Both of them were like sparkling gems in his otherwise darkened life.

Though, it wasn’t as dark four years ago as it was not, when the future looked promising to him and life seemed full of countless possibilities. Moreover, all the dreams were turning to reality. He married Sarita out of his own choice and with his family’s nod, he had a good job in the gulf, he had saved good amount of money and he hoped life will take on to a new course once Sarita would join him in the gulf. But unaware of the future, the course he hoped to take became a curse for him. Lady luck didn’t shine on him. He lost his job and joined a property consultant’s office where he had to work harder than ever to meet up with monthly expenses. Sarita declared she was pregnant three months after he brought her to gulf. She was still jobless. The worst of all, she didn’t want to go back. She wanted to stay with him. Continue reading

Death Of A Storyteller

I have always thought of storytelling as an art. An art of depicting emotions beautifully and hypnotically through one’s actions and words that the listener finds himself as a part of the story being told. It is an art of converting a rather boring story into a fairy tale, and sometimes even more. It is an art of picking a story lying in a stinking drain under the footpath and placing it in the center of the temple for readers to worship. It is an art which he boasted about possessing, until he realized the truth. Continue reading

Weirdness

I woke up at 5:15 pm, began writing this post at 5:40 pm. I thought very seriously for twenty five minutes whether or not to write this post? Will it make any sense to the reader? Will it successfully carry the message that I want to share or not? I was confused in all this and popping in pop-corns into my mouth one after the other, I eat more when I am depressed, I realized that I need to write this post because this is my portal. Before I think about my gracious readers, I have to think about what inspires me to write so off beat articles which have always brought me more nuisance from my readers than the calmness I was expecting when I started this portal.

It has been a boring day so far. I woke up at 10, had a chat till mid-noon, went into a depressing mood because of my ever present loneliness, had a chat again till 3 which ended abruptly. I was confused between cleaning the apartment or going for a movie and I slept as a result of the indecisive  irritation. It was then, when the weirdness took over me. I saw a dream. A Dog Is A Dog Is A Dog

‘A dog is a dog for every dog but a human is not human for every human.’ – Rob

——————————-

Rob was a regular street dog. He was lean, fit, cruel & independent. On any given day, he was able to outrun any number of dogs in his locality. Rob was the best when it came to survival. He had been surviving all the risks of living in streets and facing dangerous situations everyday all by himself. He never lived in a single street for a longer period of time. He had two reasons for that. First, staying at one place for a longer time and surviving successfully makes other dogs jealous. Second, he liked reaching a new place and mark his own territory, again and again, every time. He was a regular street dog, but he considered himself no less than a tiger. Continue reading
